Oxygen | Gas that is produced by plants from photosynthesis |
Photosynthesis | Process where plants use sun, water and carbon dioxide to produce sugar and release oxygen |
Nectar | a sweet liquid produced by plants eaten by hummingbirds and butterflies and used by bees in making honey |

Nocturnal | Active at night and sleeps in the day |

Decomposers | Breaks down dead materials and wastes so it is recycled back to rich land |

Predator | An organism that does the hunting to another animal for food |
Host | The organism a parasite get is energy from |
Population | All of the same type of organisms living in the same environment |
Factor | something that helps produce or influence a result |
Chemical | a substance such as an element or compound |
Florida Everglades | a swampy grassland in southern Florida usually containing saw grass and at least seasonally covered by slowly moving water |
Tropical | a region or climate that is frost-free with temperatures and moisture levels high enough to support year-round plant growth |
Wetlands | an area of land (such as a marsh or swamp) that is covered with shallow water |

Incomplete Metamorphosis | A change in an organism where the nymph looks like a small adult |
Nymph | This organism resembles a smaller version of the adult |
Larva | This is the part of the life cycle where the organism just eats and eats and eats |
Pupa | The organism seems to be resting and new body parts are being formed |

Species | A group of organisms of the same kind that can produce offspring like themselves |
Exoskeleton | A hard covering that protects an animal's soft body parts inside (Lobster, insects, spiders, scorpions) |

Inherited Traits | A trait passed from parent to offspring (eye color, height, hair color |
