predator | An animal that hunts another animal |
prey | An animal that is hunter by another animal |
producers | They make their own food for energy |
consumers | Consumers are organisms that cannot make their own food |
decomposers | They get their energy by breaking down wastes and dead organisms. |
herbivores | These animals only eat plants. |
carnivores | These animals only eat meat. |
omnivores | These animals eat both plants and meat. |
scavengers | They eat already dead animals. But they eat meat just like a carnivore. |
food chain | This is a series of steps by which energy moves from one living thing to another. |
food web | this is a diagram that combines different food chain into one picture. |
Parasite | is an organism that lives on or inside of another organism |
Symbiosis | A long term relationship between two different organisms. |
Ecosystem | all the living and nonliving things in an area and their interactions |
habitat | provides all the things an organism needs to live |
Biotic Factor | Living organisms |
Abiotic factor | nonliving |
Population | a group of one species living in an area |
Community | different populations in an area |
Niche | the role that an organism has in an ecosystem |
