Law of Conservation of Energy | the total amount of energy remains constant in an isolated (closed) system. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but can be change from one form to another. |
Solar Energy | The energy that gets radiated by the sun. It provides us heat and light energy free of cost. |
Kinetic Energy | The energy possessed as the body is in motion |
Mechanical Energy | The sum of kinetic energy and potential energy of a body |
Potential Energy | The energy possessed by an object as the object is at certain height that leads to the storage of energy due to its position |
Heat or Thermal Energy | The energy possessed by an object due to its temperature |
Chemical Energy: | The energy released in chemical reactions |
Sound Energy | The energy of a vibrating object |
Electrical Energy | The energy of moving electrons in a conductor connected with a battery |
Nuclear Energy | The energy released when two light nuclei fuse to form a heavy nucleus or when a heavy nucleus splits into two light nuclei |
Tidal energy | The moving molecule of water takes the air because of its quick movement of electrons. These moving water molecules keeps other water molecules moving. |
Electromagnetic Spectrum | includes a wide range of waves, some that we can and can't see. Some of the non-visible types of waves are radio waves, microwaves, infrared rays, and X-rays. |
Wavelength | distance between one point on a wave and the nearest point just like it. |
Frequency | the number of wavelengths that pass a fixed point each second; is expressed in hertz (Hz). |
Amplitude | a measure of the energy carried by a wave. |
Crest | highest point of a wave. |
Trough | lowest point of a wave. |
