Term | Definition |
Retina | Receives images and flips them right side up. It's the thin area on the eyeball. |
Pupil | Black part of the eye that allows light inside. |
Lens | Sits behind the cornea and defracts light in order to focus it on the retina. |
Iris | Colored part of the eye that controls the amount of light entering the pupil. |
Cornea | Transparent part of the eye that covers the front of the eye. |
Vitreous | Gel in the eye that provides shape. |
Sclera | White part of the eye. |
Optic Nerve | Sits behind the eye and sends signals to the brain, which allows us to see. |
Fovea | Small pit in the retina surrounded by the macula. It is responsible for for the stuff you are focusing on. |
Macula | Yellow area surrounding the fovea that acts as natural sunglasses. |
