The Eye

Parts/Functions

TermDefinition
Retina Receives images and flips them right side up. It's the thin area on the eyeball.
Pupil Black part of the eye that allows light inside.
Lens Sits behind the cornea and defracts light in order to focus it on the retina.
Iris Colored part of the eye that controls the amount of light entering the pupil.
Cornea Transparent part of the eye that covers the front of the eye.
Vitreous Gel in the eye that provides shape.
Sclera White part of the eye.
Optic Nerve Sits behind the eye and sends signals to the brain, which allows us to see.
Fovea Small pit in the retina surrounded by the macula. It is responsible for for the stuff you are focusing on.
Macula Yellow area surrounding the fovea that acts as natural sunglasses.
