prokaryotic | a cell lacking a nucleus or any other membrane- enclosed organelles |
unicellular | an organism made up of one single cell |
multicellular | an organism made up of more than one cell, often made up of different types of cells |
classification | the process of grouping things based on similarities |
taxonomy | the branch of science that formally names and classified organisms by their structure, function and relationships |
domain | the highest and largest rank of grouping organisms three groups:Archea Bacteria, and Eukarya |
domain bacteria | proaryotic, single- celled organism that lacks a nucleus in its cell |
domain Archaea | prokaryotic , single- celled organism that lacks a nucleus in its cell and can live in extreme environments |
domain Eurkary | organism with cells that contain a nucleus |
kingdom | a taxonmic rank below domain 6 groups:animals, fungi, plantea, protista, archea and eubacteria |
autotroph | an organism that is able to make its own food; known as a consumer in the food chain |
heterotroph | an organism that CANNOT make its own food; known as a consumer in the food chain |
asexual reproduction | a method of reproduction that requires only one parent 100% DNA from one parent |
sexual reproduction | a method of reproduction that requires both male and female parent 50% from 1 parent 50% from one parent |
cell theory | states that all living organisms are made up of 1 or more cells; cells are the basic unit of life and all cells come from other cells |
kingdom Archeabacteria | unicellular, asexual. auto and hetertroph, prokaryotic organism that live in moderate enviroment |
kingdom Eubacteria | unicellular, asexual, auto and heterotrophic, prokaryotic organism that live in a moderate enviroments |
kingdom Protista | uni- and multicellular sexual or a sexual auto - and heterotrphic eukaryotic organism that are microscopic |
kingdoom Fungi | uni- and multicellular sexual or asexual, autotrophs, eukarotic organism; known as a decomposer in the food chain |
kingdom Plantae | multicellular , sexual and asexual , autotrophs, eukaryotic organism; known as a producer in the food chain |
