Term | Definition |
Interphase | Cell grows and DNA and organelles are copied. |
Prophase | Nucleus disappears and the chromatin forms chromosomes, the centrioles move to opposite poles. |
Metaphase | Chromosomes line up at the equator and attache to the spindle fibers. |
Anaphase | Chromosomes are pulled apart by the centrioles. |
Telophase | Two new nuclei are formed and the cleavage furrow begins to pinch the cell membrane into two cells. |
Cytokinesis | Two identical daughter cells are formed. |
