Binomial nomenclature | Two-name used to name organisms. ex. Homo sapiens |
Biochemical relationship | The study of chemical substances and the processes occurring in living organisms. |
Class | One of the categories, used by taxonomists to group species. |
Embryological relationship | A part of biology that deals with formation, early growth and development of living organisms. |
Eukaryotic cell | Have internal membranes and a definable nucleus and other organelles. |
Evolutionary relationship | How two things are related with respect to their evolutionary descent. |
Family | A group of species ex. the dog family of cat family. |
Genus | A meaning from taxonomists to group a species, contains the species that are most likely related through evolution. |
Homologous structure | A structure that is related in two or more species. |
Kingdom | One of the categories, used by taxonomists to group species. |
Order | One of the categories, used by taxonomists to group species. |
Phylum | One of the categories, used by taxonomists to group species. |
Prokaryotic cell | The cell type that is in Bacteria and Archea that does not have a membrane-bounded nucleus and organelles. |
Species | A group of similar organisms that are able to interbreed and produce fertile offspring. |
Sub-phylum | A category of related organisms ranking below a phylum. |
Taxonomy/taxon | Part of biology to due with identifying, describing and naming organisms. |
