How do plant and animal cells differ? | Plant - large and rectangular, have a cell wall Animal - small and oval, don' have cell walls |
What is the difference between cell theory and spontaneous generation theory? | SG - Theory that living things can develop from nonliving matter (ex. maggots on meat) Cell theory - foundation of modern biology - all cells come from other cells |
What is the primary source of energy for the earth? | The sun |
What did Louis Pasteur prove? | His experiments with bacteria contradicted the theory of SG. Let to the theory that germs infect people. He developed pasteurization - the heat-treatment process that kills disease causing microorganisms in food and beverages like milk. |
