Term | Definition |
Roots | Anchor roots to soil, store food, absorb water and nutrients. |
Xylem | Carries water and nutrients upward from roots to leaves. |
Phloem | Carries photosenthetic products( glucose ) downward from leaves to roots. |
Leaves | Absorb light, Carry out photosynthesis, Broad flat leaves maximize light absorption. |
Stems | Produce leaves, branches, and flowers// Transports water and nutrients between roots and leaves. |
Vascular Tissue | Tubes that carry out water, minerals, and food within the plant. |
Pollination | Transfer of pollen from mate to female productive structure. |
Spore | A unit of asexual reproduction that may be adapted for dipersal and for survival. |
Seed | Plant embryo and food supply enclosed in a productive covering. |
