| Carnivore | Animal that only eats other animals and does not eat plants |
| Herbivore | Animal that only eats plants |
| Consumers | Animals that get their food by eating plants or other animals |
| Producers | Plants that make their own food |
| Habitat | The area where a plant of animal lives |
| Ecosystems | All the plants and animals in a specific area interacting with each other and their environment |
| Ecology | The study of the relationships between plants, animals and their environment. |
| Omnivore | Animals that eat BOTH plants and animals |
| Decomposers | Organisms that feed on dead plants and animals |
| Competition | Takes place when two or more organisms both require a resource that is in short supply |
| Food web | Two or more interconnecting food chains |
| Interdependence | Living things depending on each other for survival |
