multiple alleles | three or more forms of a gene that code for a single trait. |
sex chromosomes | carry genes that determine whether a person is male or female. |
sex-linked genes | genes on the x and y chromosomes. |
carrier | person who has one recessive and one dominant allele for a trait. |

pedigree | a chart/family tree that tracks which members of a family have a particular trait. |
karyotype | picture of all the chromosomes in a cell. |

gene therapy | inserting copies of a gene into a person’s cells |
genome | all the DNA in one cell of an organism. |
