Ischemia | Inadequate blood supply to a local area due to blockage of blood vessels leading to that area. |

Metastasis | Spreading of cancer cells from one organ or tissue to another. |
Nosocomial | Hospital acquired infection. |
Oliguria | Reduced urine output. |
Orthopnea | Difficulty breathing while lying down. |
Paresthesia | Sensation of numbness or tingling on the skin that occurs without stimulation. |
Parenteral | Taken into the body in a manner other than through the digestive canal. |
Perineum | Part of the body between the anus and the genitals. |
Peritoneum | Continuous transparent membrane which lines the abdominal cavity and covers the abdominal organs. |
Petechiae | Small red dots due to bleeding under the skin. |
Pneumonia | Infection in one or both of the lungs. |
Presbycusis | Age-related hearing loss. |
Pruritus | Itching, irritation that makes you want to scratch the itchy area. |
Purulent | Consisting of, containing, or discharging pus. |
Syncope | Fainting; temporary loss of consciousness. |
Tachycardia | Fast heart rate. |
Tachypnea | Rapid breathing. |
Therapeutic | Pertaining to the treatment of a disease. |
Urticaria | Hives; red and sometimes itchy bumps on your skin. |
