| cytoplasm | region within plasma membrane, includes fluids, cytoskeleton, and all organelles, except the nucleus |
| cytosol | part od the cytoplasm; includes molecules and small particles i.e. ribosomes |

| mitochondria | tiny organelles, transfer energy from organic molecules into ATP |
