biotic factors | living factor in an ecosystem (such as plants, animals, dead plants and animal remains) |
abiotic factors | Non living factor in an ecosystem, that never had life – (such as water, temperature, air, light, rocks and soil) |
community | A group of different organisms living together in an ecosystem |
population | The total number of organisms in an area |
habitat | A place where an organism lives |
ecosystem | A group of living and non-living things that co-exist and help each other survive |
species | A single type of organism that can mate and reproduce |
biome | A large geographic region that has similar abiotic factors (such as tundra, desert, rainforest) |
