Tenet 1 Guiding Principle | Interpreters must be trusted; confidentiality is valued by consumers and protects all involved |
1.1 | Share info on an "as-needed" basis eg supervisors,team, ed team, hiring entities |

Tenet 3 Guiding Principle | Interpreters present an appropriate demeanor and appearance and avoid conflicting roles/conflicts of interest. |
3.1 | Figure out issues necessary to interpreting effectively (i.e. placement/adaptations) |
3.2 | Decline assignments or quit interpreting when not able to do it (eg physical, mental, emotional reasons) |
3.3 | Avoid dual/conflicting roles |
3.4 | Comply with workplace codes, notify appropriate person if conflict with CPC, seek resolution if needed |

5.1 | Be civil towards colleagues, students, interns |
5.2 | Work w/ team through prep, courteous feedback when asked, and monitoring accuracy when support interpreter |
5.3 | Privately discuss w/ team issues to be resolved; file formal grievance after standard methods are unsuccessful or breaches are habitual/harmful |
5.4 | Act as mentor when appropriate |

6.3 | Promote conditions conducive to effective communication; inform/fix situation if necessary |
6.4 | Inform appropriate persons in a timely manner if delayed or unable to do the job |

6.6 | Refrain from harassment/coercion before, during & after interpreting services |
