Schizocarps | Two-sided winged fruits |

Berry | Entire fruit is fleshy, except for a thin skin (grapes, avocados, blueberries) |
Pepo | Modified berry with hard skin called a rind (pumpkins and watermelons) |
Hesperidium | Leathery skin that is not as hard as the skin of a pepo (all citrus) |
Pome | A core surrounded by a fleshy tissue that can be eaten (apples and pears) |

Achene | Single seed inside a shell, but the seed must be separated from the shell. They usually form in groups and can have parachutes or hard shells (dandelion, strawberry, sunflower) |
Samaras | Seeds inside a winged fruit that float in the breeze. If two are attached, they are called schizocarps (maple, ash, elm) |
Nuts | Single seed surrounded by a hard, woody covering (acorns and chestnuts) |
