Question | Answer |
chromatid | each identical rod of a chromosome |
chromosome | the doubled rod of condensed chromatin |
centromere | holds the sister chromatids together while they aattach to spindle fibers |
Interphase | the cell gets big and makes copys of DNA |
Prophase | chromatin condenses making chromosomes the spindle fibers form a bridge between the end of the cell and the membrane breaks down |
metaphase | chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell attaching to the spindle fibers and its centromeres |
anaphase | centromeres seperate and start to move to the cells poles |
telophase | chromosomes cluster in the center of each new cell , nuclear membrane begins to form, cell begins to split |
cytokensis | the cell splits into two to form two daughter cells |
DNA replication | ensures that each daughter cell will have all of its genetic information to carry on its normal functions |
animal cell in mitosis | goes through cell cycle |
plant cell | plates form in the middle of the cell and then it seperates into two cells |
