Question | Answer |
Cell Membrane | To keep the cell and it's environment separate. To allow things in and out of the cell. It is the cells boundary. |
Cytoplasm | Gel-like liquid. To hold or support the structures and/or to move structures material through the cell by streaming. |
Nucleus | Direct all the activities of the cell. It IS NOT the nucleus of an atom. |
Mitochondrion | Breaks down cell food to release energy to use in cell. Like a power house. |
Endoplasmic Reticulum (er) | A path to help move things from the nucleus to the edges of the cell. Like a highway. |
Ribosome | Makes proteins. It is found on the ER. |
Golgi Bodies | Packages proteins and other things cells make. Begins the process of moving things out of the cell. |
Vacuole | It stores things in the cell. Like sacs. They are made up of Golgi Bodies. |
Lysosome | It digests waste and worn out cell parts. The bits are used to make new things in a cell. Lysosomes are recyclers. |
Cell Wall | The outside of the cell membrane. It protects and supports the cell. ONLY FOUND IN PLANTS. |
Chloroplast | Changes light energy into chemical energy, in the form of sugar or starch. They always have a color and most of them are green. ONLY FOUND IN PLANTS. |
Cytoskeleton | The Cytoplasm contains the Cytoskeleton, solid and hollow tubes that helps cells keep their shape, change their shape, or, in some cases move. |
