QuestionAnswer
Cell Membrane To keep the cell and it's environment separate. To allow things in and out of the cell. It is the cells boundary.
Cytoplasm Gel-like liquid. To hold or support the structures and/or to move structures material through the cell by streaming.
Nucleus Direct all the activities of the cell. It IS NOT the nucleus of an atom.
Mitochondrion Breaks down cell food to release energy to use in cell. Like a power house.
Endoplasmic Reticulum (er) A path to help move things from the nucleus to the edges of the cell. Like a highway.
Ribosome Makes proteins. It is found on the ER.
Golgi Bodies Packages proteins and other things cells make. Begins the process of moving things out of the cell.
Vacuole It stores things in the cell. Like sacs. They are made up of Golgi Bodies.
Lysosome It digests waste and worn out cell parts. The bits are used to make new things in a cell. Lysosomes are recyclers.
Cell Wall The outside of the cell membrane. It protects and supports the cell. ONLY FOUND IN PLANTS.
Chloroplast Changes light energy into chemical energy, in the form of sugar or starch. They always have a color and most of them are green. ONLY FOUND IN PLANTS.
Cytoskeleton The Cytoplasm contains the Cytoskeleton, solid and hollow tubes that helps cells keep their shape, change their shape, or, in some cases move.
