Demosomes | Forms cell to cell junctions. Mechanically attaches between adjacent epithlial cells. |
Hemidesmosomes | Half of a desmosome. Mechanically attaches epithelial cells and non-cellular surfaces. |
Intermediate/Gap Junctions | Communicating junctions that allow cells of a tissue to commuinicate with each other. They do not stick to each other. |
Tight Junction | To adjacent cell fuse together but do not allow the materials through spaces. |
Basement Membrane | Holds to the underlying CT of the lamina propria.It has two components: Basal Lamina & Recticular Lamina |
Basal Lamina | Product of basal cells of epithelium |
Recticular Lamina | Product of connenctive tissue cells in lamina propria call fibroblasts. |
