Aqueous humor | Clear gel that fills the space between the cornea and lens of the eyeball (Anterior space).

Tropia | Eye that deviates; constant or intermittent; sensory fusion is unable to maintain the eyes in a straight position.

Nystagmus | Involuntary movement of eyes horizontally, vertically, or in a rotary fashion.

Lid lag | Immobility or lagging of the upper eyelid on downward rotation of the eye.

Red reflex | Appearance of red-eye in pictures as light enters through the pupil and reflects off the fundus on the posterior surface of the eyeball.

Weber test | Hearing test involving tuning fork being placed on vertex of forehead. Patient reports which ear hears better if not equal. Tuning fork will be heard better in the affected ear.

Rinne test | Two fold hearing test involving bone conduction(BC) and air conduction(AC) with a tuning fork. Patient reports when sound of tuning fork ceases. AC=2x > BC or hearing problem is plausible.

Whisper test | Hearing test involving 3 letters and numbers being whispered to a tested ear from a distance of 1-2 feet. Patient repeats back alphanumerical combination to verify auditory ability.

Cerumen | Ear wax.
🗑

||||
Tympanostomy tube | Small tube inserted to the ear drum in order to prevent the accumulation of fluid in the middle ear.

Rhinorrhea | Condition of the nasal cavity being filled with a great deal of mucous fluid.

Buccal mucosa | Mucous membrane/epithelium of the mouth. Oral mucosa.
