CONTRAINDICATIONS   WPW syndrome, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, sick sinus syndrome (unless pt. has functioning pacemaker), hypotension, Cardiogenic shock, severe CHF, pulmonary edema, pt receiving IV beta blocker, wide complex tachycardia, children less then 12months of age.

ADVERSE REACTIONS   Hypotension, AV block, Bradycardia, Asystole, dizziness, HA, N/V, Complete AV block, peripheral edema.

NOTES ON ADMINISTRATION   Pregnancy category C. be prepared for Asystole and resuscitation efforts.

INCOMPATABILITIES/DRUG INTERACTIONS   Increases serum concentration of digoxin. Beta adrenergic blockers may have additive negative inotropic and chronotropic effects. Antihypertensives may potentiate Hypotensive effects.

Pediatric   0.1-0.2 mg/kg/dose IV, IO push over 2 minutes. Repeat dose in 30 minutes if not effective. Don’t use in children <12 months
