How to chart teeth

Quiz yourself by thinking what should be in each of the black spaces below before clicking on it to display the answer.

# MM recession   # of MM lines on the root of the tooth. Example: 1MM = 1 line on the root. Example: 3 MM = 3 lines on the root.

Root Canal needed   RED line through the root of the tooth.

Drifting   An arrow pointing in the direction of the drift, in between the teeth. Example: #3 is drifting in the Mesial direction. An arrow should be pointing Mesially between #3 and #4.

Missing tooth   1. straight line through the whole tooth -OR- 2. an X over the whole tooth.  
🗑
Existing Root Canal   BLACK/BLUE line through the root of the tooth.  
🗑
Abscess   An open circle at the apex (tip) of the root.

Impacted   Whole tooth circled.  
🗑
O-Resin   Open circle in the middle of the O surface of the tooth.  
🗑
Sealant   A capital "S" on the O surface of the tooth.

Full Gold Bridge   Abutment (tooth #1): all surfaces colored in Pontic (tooth #2): O surface colored in/line drawn through the center of the tooth Abutment (tooth #3): all surfaces colored in * All 3 of these teeth are connected with an equals sign connecting them.

Mobility   Roman numerals used. They are placed at the tip of the root.

Super-erupted   An arrow along side the O surface pointing towards the B surface.

Pits and Fissures Sealents   "S" on O surface RED if needed - BLACK/BLUE if existing

Fractured Root/Crown   RED zigzag line acrossed affected area. Should resemble what the actual fracture looks like.

Pulpectomy/Root Canal   Straight line on root of all surfaces. RED if needed - BLACK/BLUE if existing.

Porcelain Crown   Out line the crown on all surfaces. RED if needed - BLACK/BLUE if existing

Porcelain Fused to Metal Crown (PFM)   Outline crown and use //// marks on all views. RED if needed - BLACK/BLUE if existing
