What direction is SUPERIOR toward the head end or upper part of a structure
Which way is Inferior? Away from the head or toward the lower part of a structure
Which way is Anterior? Toward or at the Front of the Body (in front)
Which way is posterior? Behind. (Toward or at the back side of the body)
Which way is Medial? Toward or at the midline of the body. On the outer side of
Which way is Lateral? Away from the midline of the body: on the outer side of
Which way is intermediate? Between a more medial and lateral structure
Which way is proximal? Close to the orgin of the body part or at the point of attachment of a limb to the body trunk.
Which way is distal? Farther from the orgin of a body part or at the point of attachment or a limb to the body part.
Which way is superficial? Toward or at the body surface.
which way is deap? away from the body surface; more internal
