QuestionAnswer
Insolation The amount of incoming solar radiation on Earth.
Short-wave radiation a high-energy form of electromagnetic energy that has a short wave-length.
Long-wave radiation A low-energy form of electromagnetic radiation, such as infrared or radio waves.
Albedo The ability of an object or surface.
Heat capacity The ability of a substance to absorb, contain, and release heat energy.
Reradiate The process by which an object takes in electromagnetic radiation and re-emits it into the atmosphere.
Angle of isolation The specific angle at which incoming solar radiation strikes at Earth's surface.
Duration The length of time that it takes for an event to occur.
Terrestrial radiation Long-wave length infrared radiation that is reradiated into the Earth's atmosphere from the land surface.
Latent heat Of condnsation-heat energy that is either absorbed or released during a phase change.
