Phototropism a type of growth movement of plant organs toward light or away from it
Phloem the vascular tissue that transports food (sugar) throughout a plant
Non-vascular plants that are low-growing and do not have roots. They obtain water and materials directly from their environment.
Geotropism a directed plant growth response to gravity
Leaves captures the suns energy and carries out photosynthesis
Transpiration the evaporative loss of water from a plant
Vascular pertaining to organs and tissues that conduct fluid
Stem carries substances between the roots and the leaves, supports the plant, and holds the leaves up to the sun

Tentacles a slender flexible limb or appendage in an animal, especially around the mouth of an invertebrate, used for grasping, moving about, or bearing sense organs
Internal Fertilization the release of sperm directly into the female reproductive tract
External Fertilization in an aquatic environment, animals can bring their gametes together by simply releasing them into the water
Larvae the active immature form of an insect, especially one that differs greatly from the adult and forms the stage between egg and pupa
Pupa an insect in its inactive immature form between larva and adult
Nymph an immature form of an insect that does not change greatly as it grows
Adult a person who is fully grown or developed
