Def: Seed stock producers? "pure bred" with recorded pedigree
Def: Commercail Producers? use cross bred animals - hybrid vigor
Def: Relationship? knowing which genes two animals have in common. AND if they exist in homo or heterozygosity
Def: Inbreeding? Mating related animals
Def: Intensive inbreeding? Mating of closely related animals whose ancestors have been inbred of several generations.
inbreeding shows... detrimental to reproductive performance and growth.
Def: Line breeding? nild form of inbreeding
What is cross breeding used for? Complementaition of breeds and Heterosis (hybrid vigor)
Def: Out crossing? unrealted animals with in the same breed are mated.
