what causes the volume loss in a burn patient there is an increased capillary membrane permeability which allows water to leak out from the intravascular sapce resulting in edema in burn tissue and throughout the body
#1 priorities for a burn patient get fluid volume, prevent hypothermia
how does hypothermia effect the burn patient decreased O2 delivery, decreased tissue perfusion secondary to vasoconstriction and increased incidence of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonay embolisms
indicated for burn all the way around full tickness, give fluids swell becomes a urnicate and cuts off blood clow, So you cout through skin to open it up and let swelling occur and restore circulation escharotomy
prevention of complications such as contractures and incection sterile procedures, PT and OT, range of motion
formula to determine fluid resucitation needs parkland formula- give (4ml)(kg)(%tbsa) then 1/2 in first 8 hours then 1/4 in the second 8 hour and 1/4 in the last 8 hours
