Weather

Weather The condition of the air at a given time and place.
Cold Front A boundry formed when a cold air mass pushes into a mass of warm air. Violent weather usually occures along this front.
Warm Front A boundry formed when a warm air mass pushes up and over a cold air mass. Light rain can fall along this front.
Tornado A small but violent windstorm that forms a rotating column of air.
Thunderstorm A violent rainstorm often with thunder and lightening.
Cirrus Cloud Thin wispy clouds made mostly of ice crystals.
Stratus Cloud Clouds that form wide sheets across the sky.
Cumulus Clouds Big puffy white fair weather clouds that form at any altitude.
Nimbostratus Rain clouds.
Cumulonimbus Clouds Thunderstorm clouds. Also know as thunderheads.
Blizzard A blinding snowstorm.
Stationary Front A front that does not move. This can be either a warm front or col front.
Front The boundry formed between 2 air masses.
Fog A cloud that forms close to the ground.
Air Mass A large body of air with the same temperature and amount of moisture.
Hurricane A storm with circular winds and heavy rains that forms over an ocean.
