What is the crust? It is the light and very thin outer layer of Earth.
Define earth science. Earth science is the name for all the sciences that collectively seek to understand Earth and its neighbors in space.
Elaborate on what earth system science is. The endeavor that aims to study Earth as a system composed if numerous interacting parts, or subsystems.
Explain the term environment. It referees to everything that surrounds and influences an organism.
What is the word that literally means "the study of Earth"? geology
What is the hydrosphere? The hydrosphere is a dynamic mass of liquid this continually on the move, evaporating from the oceans to the atmosphere, precipitating to the land, and running back to the ocean again.
What is a an untested explanation called? A hypothesis
Define Lithosphere. It is the rigid outer layer that includes the crust and upper most mantle.
What is the less dense part of the Earth? The mantle
Explain what meteorology is. Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere and the processes the produce weather and climate.
What is an untested explanation? A model
Elaborate on the nebular hypothesis. It suggests that the bodies of our solar system evolve from an enormous rotating cloud, composed mostly of hydrogen and helium.
Define negative feedback mechanism. It is a system that works to maintain status quo.

Define oceanography. It is the study of ocean and in all their aspects and relationships.

What is physical environment? It is encompasses water, air soil and rock, as well as conditions such as temperature, humidity, and sunlight.
What type of feedback mechanisms works to change the system? Positive Feedback mechanisms
Define renewable resource. It is a resource that can be reused over a relatively short period of time spans.
Elaborate on what a system is. It can be any size group of interacting parts that form a complex whole.
What is a theory? A theory is a well-tested and widely accepted view that the scientific community agrees best explain certain observables facts.
