Normal oxygen O2 level 80-100
Normal pH of blood 7.35-7.45

Interventions for Respiratory Alkalosis Calm anxious person, breath slowly, monotr ABG's and electrolyte levels
Interventions for Respiratory Acidosis Administer O2, provide hydration, HOB up, suction if needed
Interventions for Metabolic Alkalosis Initiate parenteral fluids as ordered, assess hepatic function, monitor ABG's, urine, pH, and BUN
Interventions for Metabolic Acidosis Initiate IV fluid replacement as ordered, assess for s/s of hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, alkalosis, Monitor ABG's & urine pH
