mid-level practitioner prescribing power

PA's in OK; what licenses? C-II laws? DEA and OBN license; limited formulary; C-II's on-site in protocol only; must have OK supervising physician
PA's in OK; limits on C-III thru V? Limited to a 30 day supply as an individual rx; no refills allowed on controlled substances
PA's in OK; non-controlled drugs? meds prescribed for the first time by a PA are limited to 30 days with 2 refills
PA's in OK; non-controlled drugs for chronic condition? limited to a 90-day supply with three (3) refills.
What types of nurses can apply for prescribing authority? Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Certified Nurse Midwives.
Limits of Nurse practitioner prescribing in OK the prescribed drug must be within the APN’s specialty area of practice, prescribing includes C-III thru C-V limited to a 30-day supply, may be combination of initial and refill but can’t exceed 30 day supply.
OK nurse practitioner limits on controlled substance? no C-II's (except during periop period); exclusionary formula; must be DEA and OBN registered
can a CRNA write outpatient RX in Oklahoma? nope
optometrists in OK may obtain a mid-level DEA and OBN license for prescribing C-III thru C-V limited to a 7-day supply (no refills without a follow-up examination). Drugs prescribed have to be for abnormalities of the eye.
Can a pharmacist fill an RX for an out of state mid-level practitioner in Oklahoma? No, mid-level practitioners must be licensed in OK for valid rx's.
What about CDS for themselves or an MLP's immediate family in OK? No CDS's for themselves or immediate family members.
In OK, what family does not get CDS from a practitioner? A practitioner may NOT prescribe a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) for a patient related within the first or second degree, whether by blood or marriage
In OK, what family gets CDS from a practitioner? NAG! Nieces (nephews), Aunts (uncles), Great's (great grandmother, great granddaughter); this is called 3rd degree relatives
