What is a chemical bond? A strong attraction between negatively charged electron and positively charged protons.
What are valence electrons? Electrons that interact with another atom's electron from the outer shell.
What is a molecule? A discrete unit of atoms bonded together.
What is an ionic bond? A bond where valence electrons are either gained or lost from another atom.
What is a covalent bond? A bond where valence electrons are shared with another atom.
What is it about some bonds that cause some metals to be malleable and ductile? The valence electrons can move around freely in Metallic bonds.
How many bonds does a water molecule have? 4.
How many valence electrons does a water molecule have? 8.
How many different elements does a water molecule have? 2.
How many different atoms does a water molecule have? 3.
How many molecules does a water molecule have? 1.
