What are 3 types of rocks? Igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary.
How do igneous rocks form? When molten lava cools down to create a rock
How do sedimentary rocks form? When air or water deposits bits of sediments and it forms together
How do metamorphic rocks form? When a already existing rock gets morphed due to pressure and heat
How do rocks get weathered by tree roots? When the tree roots get bigger it will crack the rock open
How do rocks get weathered by heat and cold? When the air is hot the rocks will expand and crack when the air is cold the rocks will contrast making hole and cracks
How do rocks get weathered by ice? When rain comes it will go into every crack then at night, when the temperature dips below -0'C the water will freeze and expand crackingthe rock.
How do rocks get weathered by rain water some rain water are slightly acidic so it will melt the rocks and stone. However, these acids are very weak so it will take years for it to weather away
What is chemical weathering? when rocks get weathered due to a chemical reaction
What is physical weathering? When rocks get weathered without any chemical reaction
What is an example of igneous rock? eg. Granite and basalt are acceptable
What is the toughest type of rock Igneous rocks
What are examples of metamorphic rocks? eg. slate and marble are acceptable
What are examples of sedimentary rocks? eg limestone and sandstone are acceptable
What rocks are fossils found in? any type of sedimentary rocks
