Hepititis Inflamation of the liver
Sterilization Complete distructioion of all microorganisms and their spores.
Cross Infection The passing of disease producing microorganisms from person to person.
Asepsis Condition of being free from infectious microorganisms, not producing microorganisms.
Allergy Unusul reaction to a drug or agent, normally not irritating.
Autoclave an apparatus that uses steam under pressure to effect sterilization.
Culture Growth of microorganisms on artificial mediums for examination.
Flora Plants or plant life in any area or region.
Incubator Small chamber with controlled temperature for cultivation of microorganism.
Metastasis Transfer of disease, usually cancer, from original site to unrelated parts.
Sterile Free from all known microorganisms and their spores.
Spirilla Spiral shaped bacteria that is pathogenic.
Spore Microorganisms with this cell wall enabling the cell to survive adverse conditions.
Pathogen A disease producing microorganisms.
Protozoa Unicellular animal-microscopic.
Bacilli Rod Shaped Bacteria
Aerobe Bacteria that must have oxygen to live.
Anaerobe Microorganisms that cannot live in presence of oxygen.
Ultrasonic Cleaner Mechanical means of scrubbing intruments.
Germicide Agent to destroy microorganisms.
Host Person, animal, or plant that supports a parasite.
