What is a model? a representations of an object or process.
What is a map? A drawing of an area.
What is a symbol? a color,shape, or texture that is used to represent something.
What is a key? an explanation of a symbol.
What dose a map show? the features of the earth.
What dose a grid do? identifys positons on the map.
What is a landform? a shape or feature of the earth's surface.
What is a drainage basin? a system of rivers and streams that drains a area like the Colorado plateau.
What are the 2 processes of erosion? weathering and transporting.
How dose the earth material settle? by depositing.
What is a sediment? eroded earth material that have been deposited.
What is a channel? the course or path a river takes.
Water that flows over earth material can do what? erode the material.
What 2 types of landforms can rivers make? canyons and deltas.
Earth materials eroded by rivers are deposited as what? sediments.
When do heavier material like sand deposit? earlier.
What dose water in a river follow? the lowest channel.
What is a mountain? a high uplifted area.
What is a canyon? a V shaped valley eroded by a river.
What is a plateau? a nearly level area that has been uplifted.
What is a dune? a mound,hill or ridge of wind blown sand.
What is a valley? a low area between hills and mountains.
What is a meander? a curve or loop in a river.
What is a plain? nearly level area where materials have been deposited.
What is a floodplain? the land that gets covered when a flood occurs.
What is a beach? gently sloping shore near a body of water usually the ocean.
What is a delta? the fan shape part at the end of a river.
