What is a mineral? A mineral is a natural,solid substance that has a definate chemical composition and physical stucture.
What is igneous rock? It is the rock created when magma or lava hardens into rock.
What is sedimentary rock? Rock that forms from materials on Earth's surface.
What is weathering? It is the breaking down of rocks.
What is erosion? The movement of rock.
What is deposition? The dropping of rocks.
What is sedimentation? The building up of rocks.
What is cementation? The glueing of rocks.
What is a clastic rock? Rocks that went through all the processes that form sedimentary rock.
What is a chemical rock? Rocks that formed from minerals that disolved in water that evaporated and got deposited.
What is metamorphic rock? Rock that was formed from heat and pressure.
What is metamorphism? The process in which rock changes into metamorphic rock.
What is magma? Melted rock within the Earth's crust.
What is lava? Melted rock outside the Earth's crust.
