The Specific Immune Response

QuestionAnswer
What is the first stage? Pathogen enters the body.
What is the second stage? The pathogen either infects a macrophage which then presents the pathogens antigens, infects a cell which then presents the antigens or enters the body fluid.
Why do the macrophages and infected cells present the antigens? To increase the chance of the correct B or T lymphocyte coming into contact with the antigens and starting cloneal expansion
Where do all lymphocytes come from? They all come from bone marrow
Where do T cells go to mature? T lymphocytes or a T cells mature In the thymus.
What happens in Colonal expansion? The correct lymphocyte comes into contact with the pathogens antigens it releases cytokienes which triggers all of the lymphocytes with the correct receptor to reproduce into Plasma Cells, B Memory cells, T killer cells and T helper cells
What is the role of the T killer cell? To attack infected host cells.
What is the role of the T helper Cells? They stimulate B cells to divide.
What is the role of Plasma Cells? To make antibodies
What is the role of T and B memory Cells? To remain in the blood after the infection to increase the chance of the pathogen coming in contact with the correct receptor quicker.
