WordDefinition
vertabrate An animal that has a backbone.
nonvascular Plants that transport water and other substances directly from the ground into their cells.
fungus A unicellular or multicellular organism that absorbs food from dead or decaying organisms in its environment.
protist A unicellular or multicellular organism with a distinct nucleus that does not have specialized tissues.
bacteria Simple, tiny unicellular organisms with cell membranes and cytoplasm but no distinct nuclei.
kingdom The broadest group of classification.
invertabrates An animal without a backbone.
vascular Plants with tubes that transport food and water.
