Authors of Nonfiction help the reader understand through different text features

| What are boldfaced words? | Text written darker to let the reader know they are important |
| Where would you find a glossary and what is its purpose? | In the back of the book. It tells the definition of some words found in the book. |
| What information do sidebars have? | Sidebars have additional information to support the text. |
| Where would an author write his final thoughts about the text to the reader? | In an afterword |
| What are words in the text which are written on a slight angle called? | italics |
| What is the difference between photographs and illustrations? | Photographs are taken with a camera and illustrations are drawn. |
