nimbo- -nimbus precipitation forming clouds
air mass large body of air
front where two air masses meet
warm front slow-moving, light rain(maybe a few days!), the clear and warmer, goes up and over a cold front
cold front fast-moving, may have sudden storms, may thunderstorms then clear and colder, pushes warm air up and goes under it
occluded front 2 cold air masses move together and push warm air up, cool, precipitation
stationary front 2 air masses meet, neither air mass wants to move, cloudy, rainy
climate weather conditions over time, involves averages
Earth's 3 major climate zones polar, temperate, tropical
mountains higher elevation
wind caused by differences in temperature near mountains and bodies of water
