What is uniformitarianism? Uniformitarianism is a principle that states that the same geologic process that has been shaping the Earth today has been at work throughout Earth's history.
What is the difference between uniformitarianism and catastrophism? Uniformitarianism is when the Earth changes over time while catastrophism is when the Earth changes suddenly or in catastrophes.
What is a geologic column? A geologic column is an ideal sequence of rock layers that contains all the known fossils and rock formations on Earth arranged from oldest to youngest.
Define superposition. Superposition is a principle that states that younger rocks lie above older rocks. Younger over older.
List 6 types of disturbed rock layers.
