Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory and Excretory Systems

• Digestive Systems Breaks down food into smaller nutrients such as glucose and amino acids so they can fit into and out of our cells
Respiratory System Brings in Oxygen and releases the waste product Carbon Dioxide
Circulatory System delivers oxygen and nutrients to cells and removes wastes from cells
Excretory System the organs that remove waste from the body
Villi finger-like projections in the small intestine that increase the ability to absorb digested nutrients
Alveoli air sacs in the lungs that exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide
Enzymes speed up the breaking down and putting together of chemicals such as food, proteins, carbohydrates.
Diffusion the movement of chemicals from high concentration to low concentration
Capillaries one-celled thick tubes that carry our blood to every cell diffusing materials into and out of the cell
Veins tubes that carry blood back to the heart under
Arteries tubes that carry blood away from the heart to the body
Urea the toxic (poisonous) waste product made by all of our cells that must be removed from the body by the kidney
