Weather Clouds

What are cumulus clouds? puffy, white clouds with flat bottoms
What type of elevation do cumulus clouds form at? medium and high levels

dark cumulus clouds show what type of weather? rain or thunderstorms
What are cirrus clouds? wispy clouds that are usually made of ice crystals
What type of elevation do cirrus clouds form at? high levels
What type of weather does cirrus clouds show? fair weather along with an approaching warm front
What are stratus clouds? layered clouds
What type of elevation do stratus clouds form at? medium and low levels
Thick stratus clouds usually show what? precipitation
What are nimbus clouds? clouds that normally bring rain
What are 2 types of nimbus clouds? cumulonimbus and nimbostratus
What are cumulonimbus clouds? thunderhead clouds that are mostly apart of a thunderstorm and sometimes can show a cold front approaching because of the type of conditions shown
What are altocumulus and altostratus clouds? medium leveled clouds that are about 2-6 kilometers off the ground
What is fog? clouds that form when condensation occurs at or near the ground
