Who invented the classification system? greek astromomer Aristole
How did Charled Linnenus contribute to taxonomy? By inventing binomial nomenclature which is a 2 part naming system
Whats Binomial Nomenclature? B. N. is a 2 part naming system. The first part of the name is the genus and the 2nd part is the species.
What is a species? a group of similar organisms
Are species with similar evolutionary history classified more closely? yes
What is a taxonomic key? A series of paired statements that describe physcial characteristics for different organisms
what is todays system of classification? Today the system of classification includes 6 kingdoms : archaebacteria, eubacteria, protists, fungi, plants, and animals
