What is weathering? It is the process by which rocks are broken down into smaller pieces.
What is erosion? It is the process by which wind and moving water carry away bits of rock.
What is deposition? It is the process of dropping, or depositing, sediment in a new location.
What is a renewable resource? Resources that are replaced as they are used.
What is a nonrenewable resource? Resources that CANNOT be replaced once they are used.
What does it me to reuse? It is to use a resource over again.
What does it mean to reduce? It is to cut down on the use of resources.
Where do fossil fuels come from? They are formed from the remains of organisms that lived long again.
What does it mean to recycle? It is to reuse a resource to make something new.
What is conservation? It is the careful management and wise use of natural resources.
What is rotation? It refers to the spinning of Earth on its axis.
What is an orbit or revolution? It is to move in a circular course.
What is an axis? An axis is an imaginary line that runs through both poles of a planet.
What is a new moon? It is moon that is dark because the lighter side is away from the sun.
What is a first quarter moon? It is a moon that is illuminated on its right side and is 1/4th of the way through its orbit around the earth.
What is a last quarter moon? It is a moon that is illiminated on the left side and is 3/4ths through its orbit around the earth.
What is a full moon? It is a moon that totally illuminated, faces the sun, and is 1/2 of the way through its orbit around the earth.
What does illuminated mean? It is to be visible.
What are seasons? A season is a time of the year such as spring, summer, winter, and fall.
