classification antiplately, nonnarcotic analgesic, anyipyretic
action prevents aggregation of platelets which cause obstruction or constriction of small coronary arteries
indications fever, inflammation, angina, acute MI, and pts c/o pain possibly of cardiac origin
adverse effects anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm, bleeding, stomach irritation, n/v
contraindications GI bleeding, active ulcer disease, hemorrhagic stroke, bleeding disorders, children with chickenpox or flulike symptoms
dosage- MI adult: 160-325mg PO peds: 3-5mg/k/day
dosage-pain or fever adult:325-650mg PO peds: 60-90mg/kg/day
