Pattern where species experience long, stable periods interrupted by brief periods of evolutionary change Punctuated equilibrium
Pattern where species experience many small changes over long period of time Gradualism

This era included the Cretaceous/Jurassic/Triassic Period Mesozoic
Extinction is when All organisms of a certain species die out.
Unrelated species start looking like each other convergent evolution
Example of convergent evolution dolphin's fluke & fish's tail
