What is spontaneous generation? A theory widely held in the 19th century and earlier but now discredited, stating that living organisms could arise directly and rapidly from nonliving material.
What are some examples of spontaneous generation? One example is the experiment that Francesco Redi conducted in the 19th century when he disproved that maggots spontaneously arose from meat by observing them lay eggs on the meat.
Who named the cell, and what did he name the cell after? Robert Hooke was the first person to name the cell, he named it after the cells that monks live in for months and years on end.
What is the Cell Theory? The cell theory is a theory in which everything is made up of a cell and that it is the very basic unit of life.
What is a Prokaryotic Cell? A Prokaryotic Cell is a cell that lacks a distinct cellular nucleus.
